David Weild’s journey in the financial world is marked by significant achievements and pioneering contributions. As the Chairman and CEO of Weild & Co., founded in late 2016, David led the firm to remarkable growth, expanding its presence into more than 20 states and several countries. Under his leadership, the company earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years.

Before his current endeavors, David served as the Vice Chairman of The NASDAQ Stock Market, overseeing all 5,000 NASDAQ-listed public companies. He is widely recognized as the “Father of the JOBS Act,” the first major legislation in 72 years to increase access to capital.  The Act, now tested for on investment banking licensing exams, set the framework for securities crowdfunding, generally solicited private placements, Reg. A+ IPOs and emerging-growth company IPOs.  It removed barriers to access-to-capital for people in poor communities and led to funding for many groundbreaking technologies including Moderna’s life-saving mRNA technology that underpins their COVID vaccine that saved over 2 million lives.

David’s expertise and insights have made him a sought-after speaker at prestigious forums worldwide, including the White House, U.S. Congress, SEC, the OECD and the G-20. His innovative approach to investment banking and equity capital markets at Prudential Securities set new standards in the industry, leading to the development of novel financing methods in public equity markets.

An accomplished financier, David has been instrumental in pricing over 1,000 IPOs and follow-on offerings while developing algorithmic allocation systems and NASDAQ’s Market Intelligence Desk (MID). His contributions have been recognized with numerous FINRA Series licenses, underscoring his comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field.

David’s academic background includes an MBA from the Stern School of Business and a BA in Biology from Wesleyan University, further enriched by studies at prestigious institutions in Europe. His commitment to social causes is evident in his role as Chairman Emeritus of Tuesday’s Children, a charity supporting families affected by 9/11 and US military families that lost a family member.   He recently joined the board of Dignity Beyond Borders.
